Blackwood Carpentry

Privacy Policy

Effective date: 25 August 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Blackwood Carpentry Pte. Ltd. (“Blackwood”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects your personal data in connection with our renovation and interior-design services and this website. We handle personal data in accordance with Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (the “PDPA”).

1. Personal data we collect

Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:

You do not have to provide personal data to us, but if you choose not to, we may be unable to respond to your enquiry or provide our services.

2. How we collect personal data

We may collect personal data:

3. Purposes for which we use personal data

We may use your personal data to:

4. Cookies, analytics and advertising

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to make the site work, understand how it is used, and measure our marketing. Where applicable, we use the following:

These tools may set cookies or process identifiers on Meta’s and Google’s behalf as independent parties. Their handling of your data is also governed by their own privacy policies. You can manage cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the website functions.

5. Messaging channels, automated responses and human takeover

You may communicate with Blackwood through messaging channels including WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger and Instagram. When you message us on these channels, we process the information you voluntarily provide in the conversation — such as your name, contact information, renovation requirements, property or project details, appointment preferences and the content of your messages — for the purposes described in Section 3.

To respond to enquiries promptly, we use automated, AI-assisted systems to help answer questions, gather enquiry details and arrange appointments. Our team members may review these conversations and can take over and continue any conversation personally at any time. Automated responses are provided for general information; quotations and prices are not binding unless formally issued and accepted (see our Terms of Service).

Facebook Messenger and Instagram are operated by Meta Platforms, and WhatsApp is operated by WhatsApp LLC. These platforms act as independent third parties: your use of them is also subject to their own terms and privacy policies, and Meta may process your messages and account information in accordance with its own practices, which we do not control.

To request deletion of data we have received through these channels, see our Data Deletion page.

6. Disclosure of personal data

We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose personal data to:

7. Transfers outside Singapore

Some of our service providers (such as advertising, analytics and hosting providers) may store or process personal data outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is afforded a standard of protection comparable to that under the PDPA.

8. Consent and withdrawal

Where required, we collect, use and disclose personal data with your consent, which may be given expressly or implied by your actions (for example, by submitting an enquiry). You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us using the details below. If you withdraw consent, we may be unable to continue responding to your enquiry or providing our services. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out, or processing we are required or permitted to continue under applicable law.

9. Access, correction and deletion

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you and information about how it has been used or disclosed, and you may request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data. Please contact us using the details below. We may charge a reasonable fee for an access request as permitted under the PDPA.

You may also request that we delete personal data we hold about you, including data we received through Facebook Messenger, Instagram or other messaging channels. Our Data Deletion page explains how to make a deletion request, what information to include, and how we handle it. Where we are required or permitted to retain certain records (for example for legal, accounting or dispute-resolution purposes), we will tell you and retain only what is necessary.

10. Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet legal, business or accounting obligations. When personal data is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to cease retaining it or to anonymise it.

11. Security

We make reasonable security arrangements to protect personal data in our possession or control against unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification or disposal. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. Updates to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The latest version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date, and your continued use of our website or services after any update constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
